Café Einstein: an Apple Strudel to die for
24 08 2007When you’re walking along the Unter Den Linden boulevard, towards or from Brandenburg Gate, you owe yourself a visit at the well established, well known Café Einstein.
Indeed, they make very good coffee, which I never pass. But the real attraction is the Apfelstrudel, a heavenly Apple strudel, served with vanilla sauce. Trust me on this: it is unbelievably good, especially with a fresh cup of Macchiato, which I always order. The selection of tea is also very good (or so says Yonit).
We’ve been there a at least half a dozen times, and had a few breakfasts (from the excellent breakfast selection), sandwiches, toasts and other light courses, which were all very good and nicely served. Even their boiled egg is a delicacy.

Hate to admit, but everytime I am in Berlin, I eat nothing but Leberkaese and Wurstel vendor specialties…. in places like Berlin vendor eating is a must, too.
))
I certainly prefer the vendors over the gourmet (I dined once at Facil (I didn't pay for that, thank goodness), and it was quite a traumatic experience. I'll get to it later on), but we do like restaurants (it's one of our main expenses even at home…), and Shooky does loves his sweets…
Hi! I was surfing and found your blog post… nice! I love your blog.
